July 4th at the Philly Parade

For the 4th K and I and two of his kids braved the heat and went into Philly to see the parade. We scoped out a shady spot (after viewing the Liberty Bell) and stayed for the entire two plus hours. A patriotic time was had by all. Here are some parade highlights.

Ben Franklin (in red) in front of the Liberty Bell (not the real one)

Betsy Ross minus her sewing basket

Marching soldiers

A bicycle built for seven, eight, nine? I lost count.

This cute little guy stayed for the entire parade too.

You forgot to mention that, not one but two(!) marching bands played the Liberty Bell March, better known to the rest of us as the theme to Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
